The 1/10 Krugerrand is a derivative of the Krugerrand which was introduced on the market by the South African Mint in 1980. Its name comes from the fusion of the name of the former president of the South African Republic from 1883 to 1902 (Paul Kruger) and the South African currency: Rand.The 1/10 Krugerrand has a titration 916 ‰ (22 carats) for a gold end amount of 3.11 g (1/10 oz).
The obverse of the coin bears the effigy profile of former President Paul Krugger African, who was also a former military chief and political Boer. The terms "Suid-Afrika" and "South Africa" around the profile of the face of Paul Kruger.
The reverse of the coin bears the Springbok gazelle, symbolic animal in South Africa. The words "Krugerrand", "Fyngoud 1/10 oz Fine Gold" and the date around the animal.
